Chicken Soup Helps Deal with the Flu

By | November 29, 2016

I have been so sick. This cold seems to be never ending. I missed two days of work because of it and I am not sure if I will make it there tomorrow, either. Between the fever and the cold chills, I feel as if I have been put through a wringer. Pretty sure this is the worst flu I have ever had.

Fortunately, my mom is dropping off some homemade chicken noodle soup for me and that will make things much better. Mom’s soup always makes me feel better. I guess it is comfort food of a sort. Mom makes her soup from scratch and adds onion, carrots and mushrooms. She doesn’t put in the noodles until just before serving, so the noodles don’t get soggy. I think that’s the best part.

I took a shower earlier and that helped a little bit. I am going to have to change the bed sheets soon too. Hot sweats and cold chills have made it really icky. I just don’t have the energy right now to do it though, so it will wait till later. This couch is my permanent residence for the next several hours. I don’t even have the TV on because I feel so bad it hurts my head to hear it. Now that is when you know you are really sick. Blech!
